PYD force elderly to carry arms and civilians are upset

PYD gunmen still force civilians in its held areas to carry arms and do shifts on checkpoints or on the fronts,NSO reporter documented several cases about this in Efrin countryside north Aleppo.

Our reporter in Efrin said PYD affiliated-YPG forced civilians in the last week some are elderly in al-Shajara al-Kabire village in Mabatly district in Efrin countryside to carry arms and do shifts in YPG checkpoints.

Among civilians forcibly recruited by PYD known:Mohamad Othman Nouri 65 years old, Mohamad Seto Baker 60 years old, Medhet Mohammad Mourad 60 years old,Moustafa Baker Nouri 40 years old and Samir Mostafa Jamal 38 years old.

Reporter added the men over 60 years were sent to checkpoints inside Efrin city for 5 days then allowed to go back to their houses,but who are less than 40 years old were sent to Maslamyie area in Aleppo for 5 days but they didn’t come back yet according to village residents.

A resident from al-Shajara al-Kabire told NSO the arresting campaign are still ongoing while Efrin and its countryside residents appealed for PYD to exclude elderly over 50 years old from recruitment but in vain where all men in Efrin and its countryside forced to join the Prime Protection Units(local defense units)which the PYD form for men to carry arms for short limited period.

The man added two men local men Hasan Hamo Rasheed 54 years old and Mohammad Adnan Ismail 25 years old from the village were killed on February after PYD gunmen forcibly recruited them and sent them to Tal Refaat city checkpoints where they were killed in landmine explosion.
