PYD extend forced conscription period in Efrin and enlist 700 male in new military course

Young men forcibly recruited in PYD-affiliated “Self Protection Units”

“Defense and Civil Protection committee” in Efrin issued a decree to extend the seventh military service course which was supposed to end this month.

NSO reporter in Efrin said the Committee will keep the forcibly conscripted fighters of this course for two more months in addition to the course’s 9 months period due to the “critical conditions” the region is going by according to rumors spread out by the committee between civilians and fighters.

Above this the 8th military service course started and 700 young men were conscripted and trained in Mabatly district camp in Efrin countryside for 45 days,then they will be sent to fronts inside and outside Efrin in addition to Aleppo countryside areas,training camp was moved to Mabatly after it was in Kafer Janne camp where training was stopped after Russian forces centralize there.

A civil activists from Efrin told NSO:I was recruited forcibly in one of the courses and sent to Maslamyie area in Aleppo countryside, we were fighting with Assad regime in one front and we couldn’t refused because we feared of being killed.

The young man add: I’m not against taking up arms to defend my city Efrin but not to protect regime areas and fighting alongside them, and not to fight in areas where this may increase tension between Arab and Kurds.
PYD force conscription on young males between 18 and 35 years old while many cases of enlisting underage kids like Hemrin Abdi who was recruited by YPG about two years ago when she was 15.
