12 women were hit by a rocket shelling on the People's Protection Units (YPG) at the psychiatric hospital in Azaz city, north Aleppo, which resulted in the discharge of the women section of the hospital.

The director of the hospital, Mohamed Abdel Hadi told NSO that the women section of the psychiatric hospital affiliated to "Across Continents" organization was bombarded with a Grad rocket after midnight, injuring 12 women, two of them were rescued to the Turkish hospitals to the seriousness of their injuries.

Abdel Hadi said about, if there were other injuries, that there were no injuries in the men section and that no one from the hospital staff was injured as a result of the shelling.

The section, which has been shelled, consists of more than 35 beds, but it became out of service as a result of the destruction caused by the bombing, the hospital has more than 130 male inmates and more than 30 women, as the only psychiatric and mental hospital in Aleppo northern and eastern countryside.

Most of the hospital's patients suffer from psychological disorders, often caused by trauma during the war, following the loss of family members or heavy shelling in earlier times, according to the French news agency quoted earlier, a doctor treating patients at the hospital.

The city of Azaz, since the announcement of Turkey about getting close to the start of a military operation targeting the city of Afrin north of Aleppo, is being bombed almost daily by the People's Protection Units YPG of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and the positions of units in the region are being bombarded by the factions of the Free Army

The Turkish army is preparing to launch a military operation against the PYD militants in Afrin region, coinciding with the arrival of Turkish military reinforcements to the border areas with Syria and continuous artillery shelling on PYD armed positions in the area.
