Clashes between “Tahrir al-Sham” and “al-Zinki” while civilians injured in a protest against the infighting in Aleppo countryside

A protest in Urem al-Koubra in Aleppo western countryside denouncing the infighting between “Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement” and “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham”

At least 15 civilians were injured on Friday after a shooting at a protest in Urem al-Koubra town in Aleppo western countryside against the infighting in the area between “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” and “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement”.

NSO reporter said that unknown gunmen shot at the protesters who demanded both groups to stop their infighting, activists accused “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” as prime suspect of targeting the protest but our reportercouldn’t verify the accusations.

Fierce clashes erupted since Thursday night until Friday between “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” and “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” following 3 days of sporadic clashes between both sides including arrest campaign and cutting streets in addition to high alert on the checkpoints and main entrance of villages between both sides, the clashes caused the death of 4 HTS casualties while no info on “al-Zinki” casualties yet, meanwhile HTS recaptured al-Abzimo town from “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” and clashes still ongoing around the town.

Field source told NSO that clashes erupted yesterday after HTS attack from several axis to retake areas under “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” control, the attack started with heavy machine guns from Daret Izzah, Rihab, 111 legion, al-Abzimo, A’ajelm al-Sahara and Tadil.

The source added that the infighting started few days ago after “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” confiscated ammunitions and weapons of a groups of “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” and kicked out of frontlines in Vayanon village in Aleppo western countryside.

HTS also targeted with tanks shells civilian buildings in Teqad, al-Abzimo and al-Sheikh Seliman which caused civilian injuries but no info on casualties.

An armed group unofficially affiliated to “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” called “Public Union” issued a statement announced the alert to defend its areas against “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” while “Ahrar al-Sham Movement” issued a statement calling HTS to stop attacking the groups and follow Sharia laws to solve problems with other armed groups.

In early-2017 “Nour al-Din al-Zinki movement” merged with other groups such as “Nusra Front” and formed Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” then split up from the group in July 2017 after infighting started between “Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham” and “Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement”.
