Assad soldiers spend their vacations in YPG areas who force defectors to join it or handed over to regime

Lately the coordination between YPG and Assad forces is higher following regime capture Aleppo eastern neighborhood late 2016 after months of siege with the help from YPG who still control al-Halek,Boustan al-Sheikh and al-shiekh Maqsoud neighborhoods.

In this context, regime soldiers can spend their vacation in YPG-held areas while YPG arrest soldiers defected from Assad army to join its ranks or handed back to the regime.

NSO reporter in Tal Abyad said several regime soldiers spending vacations in their houses in Tal Abyad countryside without being questioned by YPG which control the city, among them are (M A)and (A KH) who are two soldiers serve near Damascus.
According to source close to the soldiers they come to Tal Abyad from Qamishli airport from Damascus and have legit papers to spend their vacation in YPG-held areas.

Reporter continued saying YPG and its affiliated groups on Aleppo-Hasakah road and Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad check soldiers’ papers and let soldiers pass unless the soldier is defected is arrested and sent to the commandership who make him choose to join YPG and its affiliated groups or handed back to the regime.

NSO reporter in Raqqa countryside met (A D)a defector soldier from Assad army who said he was serving in Damascus where he was arrested and forcibly recruited by regime and late 2016 he took vacation and went to his family in Raqqa countryside then he decided to not go back to Damascus but YPG Asayish arrested me and forced me to join them and threatens me to be handed to the regime if I refused.

(H H) a civilian from Tal Abyad told NSO many regime soldiers and officers who came back to live in the city after leaving it before FSA took it in early 2012.

YPG treatment toward regime soldiers is far better with FSA and opposition fighters, dozens of cases of arresting and displacing ex and current FSA fighters and their families especially in Hasakah and Manbij in Aleppo countryside.

Worth to mention YPG controlled Tal Abyad in August 2015 following ISIS retreat and city witnessed force displacement of 50K civilians to Turkey then 20K were able to come back while others still can’t because of arrest and force conscription.
